HSR Refresher OHS Training Course – Work Related Stress

This WorkSafe approved Health and Safety Representative (HSR) Refresher OHS training course – Work-Related Stress aims to provide HSRs with the skills and knowledge needed to raise and resolve, on behalf of their designated work group member, health and safety issues arising from circumstances causing work-related stress.

HSRs are in a position where they can act on behalf of employees in their Designated Work Group to raise issues which are identified, and to do this they require a level of understanding of the subject matter. This training steps through information on work-related stress to assist in providing that level of understanding to enable the HSR to identify factors which are impacting mental health and safety. With this knowledge they are able to liaise with their Designated Work Group and management to raise issues as they are identified.

Under Section 67 of the OHS Act 2004, entitlements to attend these courses are:

• All elected HSRs and Deputy HSRs (DHSR’s) who have completed the Initial course of training, are entitled to undertake the WorkSafe Victoria approved HSR Refresher OHS Training course and choose their training course in consultation with their employer (for each year they hold office)
• An employer, if requested, must allow an elected HSR and elected Deputy HSR to attend a WorkSafe Victoria approved HSR Refresher OHS Training Course on paid time, pay the cost of the course and any other associated costs
• Under OHS legislation, employers must not obstruct or prevent HSR’s from attending an approved course of their choice
• This course is designed specifically for HSRs and DHSRs who want to refresh their knowledge and skills.

HSR Refresher – Course Duration: 1 day - 7 hours (excluding breaks)
