HSR Refresher OHS Training Course – Work Related Violence

This WorkSafe approved Refresher OHS Training Course - Work-Related Violence will assist Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) and Deputy HSRs in understanding how they can effectively use their powers when participating in the identification, prevention and control of the risks associated with work related violence. HSR training equips participants with the confidence, skills and knowledge to understand and effectively exercise their powers under the Victorian Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act 2004.

Under Section 67 of the OHS Act 2004, entitlements to attend these courses are:

• All elected HSRs and Deputy HSRs who have completed the Initial course of training, are entitled to undertake the WorkSafe Victoria approved HSR Refresher OHS Training course and choose their training course in consultation with their employer (for each year they hold office)
• An employer, if requested, must allow an elected HSR and elected Deputy HSR to attend a WorkSafe Victoria approved HSR Refresher OHS Training Course, with pay, and pay the cost of the course and any other reasonable associated costs.
• Under OHS legislation, employers must not obstruct or prevent HSR’s from attending an approved course of their choice.
• This course is designed specifically for HSRs and DHSRs who want to refresh their knowledge and skills.
  

HSR Refresher – Course Duration: 1 day - 7 hours (excluding breaks)
